Hey McGlassFolk! So after a thrilling (and we mean that literally) breakfast at The Piggery yesterday morning (more about them later), we were off to Burdett, NY, and Finger Lakes Distilling Company. These guys are making 17 different products, among them a killer Bourbon, Rye, Gin, some Vodkas and several liqueurs that will just blow your doors off. Look for a vid on them very soon. What a day!

Always. Try. The. Fish. Tacos.
Hey Kids. I just returned from a motorcycle trip circling Lake Huron. Much more postage to come, but I had to get this up ASAP. Stopping in Grand Bend, Ontario, just north of The Pinery Provincial Park, we stumbled in to the Sunset House at the end of the "road to the beach". Grand Bend has been voted "the Bahamas of Ontario" by at least two people, and The Sunset House is a fantastic place to take it all in. Two outdoor eating places, a full service bar (we didn't partake; we still hand some riding left to do), and some great daily specials. Most importantly, for $11 on Friday nights, you can get homemade Fish Tacos. Now, I am a fan of Fish Tacos (my personal motto: "Always Try The Fish Tacos"). But these were outstanding. Local-caught Pickerel (skin-on) with a spicy tomato-based sauce and plenty of cilantro over hand made soft corn tortillas. You gotta get up here and try this. I'm sure its even better with a cold Canadian beer.

Ithaca really is gorges!
Mark, the historian, here on assignment in Ithaca, NY. The Finger Lakes region is filled with natural beauty- parks, lakes, waterfalls, trails. The locals really appreciate what mother nature has given them and consider themselves stewards of their area. Part of that stewardship is an attention to being green and consuming locally. That extends to their local craft beverages, of which there are many. The Ithaca Beer Co. Is the 43rd largest in the US. The Finger Lakes Distilling Co. is nearby along with dozens of excellent wineries. Over the next few weeks we'll be shooting episodes throughout the area. We're excited to bring you this new region. Stick with us to explore and Laugh, Learn , Drink!
