The Guys find themselves (oh, there we are!) in Fayetteville, West Virginia, a town known for whitewater rafting, mountain biking, climbing, and... GREAT pizza and craft beer! ;Yup, Pies and Pints in the very cool small town has some of the best pizza The Guys have ever had with incredibly fresh ingredients.
Why oh why oh Weyerbacher?!
Howdy folks! Artsy Guy here, feeling accomplished after a full day at the desk. Reward? Sampling the Weyerbacher tap takeover at Rattle & Hum here in the shadow of the Empire State Building (or the location of said shadow if it were actually sunny in NYC, which it's NOT).
I'm such a fan of these events that happen periodically at Rattle & Hum, Pony Bar, Blind Tiger, etc. It's a great opportunity to taste a few brews from one brewer side by side. Favorites sampled on this day were the Double Simcoe IPA, Insanity (barley wine), Heresy and Tiny (both imperial stouts). Just look at all those "W" tap handles!
So... get thee down to Rattle & Hum toot sweet to experience a brewery that doesn't raise a tap handle often in the Big Apple! That's what's HOPpenin'! (Still not sold on the catchphrase, but - heck - it's almost Easter and it's bunny-related.)
Kegs N Eggs at Spring Lounge 8AM-12, April 19th!
Jen Torrerio, Manager and Bartender. Nice hat!
Love this place. Great light, curved bar, history and great beer all around.
Go into the light...
Join everyone at the Spring Lounge aka the Shark Bar! Corner of Spring & Mulberry, tomorrow morning starting at 8AM (till noon), Kegs N Eggs, featuring draft brews from Lagunitas & Smuttynose! This is one of THE BEST places to Day Drink in NYC. YOU won't want to miss this one!
Blind Tiger. Brunch. Brand new Guy.
Artsy Guy here. I'm new. Jimmy and Mark tossed me on board at the Pony All American party last week, and if that isn't a way to join the party I don't know what is. Howdy!
What better way is there to spend a beautiful (if breezy) Sunday afternoon than brunch? Brunch with beer you say? I'll agree with you. Thanks for the segue!
I'm occupying a sidewalk-view stool at Blind Tiger Ale House in NYC's West Village. They've got a killer breakfast sandwich (and more on their improved menu), and those who know me will attest to the fact that I'm a happy camper with a pint of West Coast IPA from Green Flash in lovely Vista, CA.
Great place, this Blind Tiger! And the people watching is lively too. And that's what's HOPpenin'. (Man, did I just attempt a catch phrase?) Cheers, y'all!
(Photo note: Not all pints come with minivans.)
Pony All American party!
The line begins.
Mirjana - why so happy? Because you're pouring cask ale?
Love the headgear. And the beer.
Happy Happy Hour Guys.
... with the owner of the Pony Bar, Dan McLaughlin. Way to go Dan!

Summertime, and the Oberon's pouring
Hello out there , beautiful people. Joe here, the Michigan Guy-at-large. I was in Cleary's Pub in Howell on Monday night, and the first sign of spring was there -- Bell's Oberon. Now, if the snow would just stop falling, I can get down to some serious snoozing-on-the-patio chill'axin'.
By the way -- Cleary's (on Grand River, east of Mich Ave) has half-off on pizzas on Monday nights. That's $7 for a large pepperoni. And it may be the best pie in the L.C.

Tony's Darts Away - A California Craft Beer Haven
Greetings Craft Beer Crazies! It's Jeff chiming in, from out here on the Left Coast, because I just gotta fill you in on this spot. If you find yourself out this way, you have to head up to Burbank (for at least a few hours :) to check out Tony's Darts Away.
If you live nearby then you already know this place and probably hit it up on the regular, but I went for the first time (sure to be the first of many) a few nights back... and Wow! It's like paradise. It's divey and comfy, with a certain homie-style charm that just screams "chill." My girl Kisha said it's like being in somebody's super cool basement in the early '90s. If you don't feel like doing the mingling thing, you can shoot Pool, play Connect Four, or read Chaucer from one of the bookshelves. Oh, and then there's the BEER! Hailed as California's first "bottle-less" bar, they have 30 different types of Craft beer on tap, from the Golden State alone. The brilliant BrewMenu is broken down into West Coast IPAs and Non-IPAs, and absolutely has something for everyone. (Try the Union Jack! From Firestone.) Man, I love this place! They also have a yummy (and Vegan friendly - I told you this is California :) Menu on the food side, and I have to say, the Sweet Potato Fries are not to be missed! So if you find yourself out west for some reason, take a trip on over to Tony's Darts Away on Magnolia. They've got a great thing happening and it's sure to just get better. Thanks for reading. Stat Guy OUT!
