The craft reader board.Squigs here. Alrighty then! We've been tossing out mentions of this place for a few weeks now, and here's a wee peek at this fab new establishment in Astoria, Queens. Bier and Cheese! I think the title says it all, but I'll elucidate. Astoria Wine & Spirits on Broadway (between 34th and 35th Sts.) has long been peddling the grape and the grain, but they've now birthed a fantastic addition featuring craft beer and artisinal cheeses. (On Yelp.) On this evening, I enjoyed a five-cheese plate (alternating beautifully between goat and cow, stinky and crusty, old and new), an Avery DuganA, and a Dogfish Head Bitches Brew. Wow!

We hear they will feature sandwiches soon, and while they don't have their own growlers yet, you can bring your own in for filling. Special places like this are popping up in communities where craft and artisinal are celebrated, and we're so glad Bier & Cheese landed here in our 'hood. Cheers y'all!
